As an avid animal lover I was called by a friend to join in the mission to help with the rescue and care of lost and abandoned animals from the effects of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans, Louisianna. There are no words to describe what had to be done. These pictures will barely touch on the emotion and tremendous work that needs to be done for the innocent victims of this natural disaster. I volunteered for a group called Best Friends Humane Society they had a MASH camp set up in St. Francis Animal Sanctuary in Tylertown, Mississippi where the animals were trucked to from New Orleans. For information on Best Friends and how you can help log on to www.bestfriends.org.

They were anxiously unloaded but little did they know they would finally have comforts like clean water, food clean bedding and people who ready to give them TLC, this will now be home. | |
